FF ENCORE Two-Parter! Eps. 7 & 8 on ‘Drawing the Line' Pts. 1 and 2
Welcome to Finding Felicity, a podcast about life, love, and growing up – no matter how old you are – through the lens of the J.J. Abrams/Matt Reeves hit TV show, Felicity.
Finding Felicity launched in September 2018 to mark the 20th Anniversary of Felicity, the hit J.J. Abrams/Matt Reeves TV show that made Keri Russell a star. The original episodes of the podcast were released between September 2018 and October 2020.
**Content warning: discussion of a Felicity storyline that centers a character's sexual assault.
Episode 7 of Finding Felicity is titled Drawing the Line, Pt. 1 (Or, Boundaries Are Totally a Thing), and each of the show’s characters have boundaries that are crossed to varying degrees. Some of these instances are funny, others not so much.
Episode 8 of Finding Felicity is titled Drawing the Line, Pt. 2 (Or, Picking Up the Pieces), as it centers Julie’s efforts to move on with her life after what happened between her and Zach. And contrary to what Teresa says in the update tag at the top of the episode, this is not the shortest FF: Encore. Other than Episode 0 (obviously), the title of shortest episode so far goes to Episode 1, which comes in at a lean 53 minutes!
Joining Teresa for both episodes is writer/director Chelsea Steiner. In Episode 7, they discuss the difference between real life and a rom-com, the concept of date rape, and the fact that Felicity never seems to really face any serious consequences for her actions.
In Episode 8, they discuss the aftermath of Julie’s rape, how annoying Felicity’s “help” is, Teresa now being firmly Team Ben, and the behind-the-scenes controversy surrounding this episode’s writer and guest star, Riley Weston.
