We here at Pomonok Podcasts are thrilled to start 2026 with a new show – one that we hope will let listeners analyze and interrogate the stories they love, and the stories they create, more deeply.

**Scriptnotes NOTES premieres WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 7TH! Hosted by Teresa Jusino, each 30-minute episode (hour-long eps in the case of "Deeper Dives" and interviews) will delve into screenwriting and media topics that have been discussed back in the Scriptnotes podcast catalog that either need a fresh perspective, some updating, or that are simply a great jumping-off point for topics that haven't yet been discussed on Scriptnotes...but maybe should be. Well, if they're not going to do it, Teresa will!

Why? Because while Scriptnotes hosts John August and Craig Mazin provide immensely helpful and insightful screenwriting advice thanks to the experience earned throughout their long and successful careers, they (like everyone) have their blind spots. As a Premium Member of Scriptnotes, Teresa's listened to older episodes in their catalog and has often wondered why, when talking about some topic or other, they didn't think to bring up X, Y, or Z. Assuming that she's not the only one wondering that, Teresa hopes to offer an alternative perspective to those navigating screenwriting in particular, and media in general, as she navigates her own writing career.

Teresa says:

"Though my passion as a writer has always been fiction, when I first became a professional writer it was as a pop culture journalist. No one was paying me for my fiction, but I could get paid (sort of) for writing articles for pop culture websites. For over a decade, I've written about film, TV, comics, theater, books, games, etc, usually through the lens of gender, race, class, and disability.
It's an interesting thing to be both a creator and a critic, and I think (hope) this perspective allows me to be thoughtful and insightful about analyzing whatever works I talk about. I've been wanting to do a podcast that marries my love of creating narrative with my love of media analysis, but was having trouble finding a way in. Then, I became a 'Scriptnotes' Premium member..."

Scriptnotes NOTES will be a year-long effort – the first in a 'NOTES' series of podcasts delving into media analysis across all mediums and platforms – "because even the best creators need notes." It'll drop weekly through December 30th. 52 episodes on the craft and career of screenwriting through the lens of a queer, neurodivergent, Jewish Latina grappling with what she's learned from two of her industry role models.

Whether you love Scriptnotes, screenwriting, media criticism, or adorably excited Latinas with ADHD talking about things they like, Scriptnotes Notes is for you!
